Simulation remains paramount for the maritime industry, offering invaluable training in decision support, procedures, and mission planning, traditional training with real equipment faces several challenges: increased risk to personnel and equipment, limited access to necessary marine assets, and rising costs. These factors are driving the demand for simulation technology.
To address current and future training needs, STI is utilizing the POLARIS ship’s bridge simulator, KONGSBERG’s 6th generation system. Beyond its exceptional realism, the simulator boasts user friendliness and flexibility. These features empower instructors with greater control and allow for a wider variety of courses, perfectly aligning with the demands of shipping companies and organizations worldwide.

Behind our ship’s bridge simulator lies an investment of more than 140 person-years of development by Kongsberg. This major investment has resulted in the most advanced ship bridge simulator available in the market today. FIRST FULL MISSION ME ENGINE WALKTHROUGH IN THE PHILIPPINES
Equipped with the latest technology of visual representation through Virtual Reality Walkthroughs developed by the World’s Premier Simulator Manufacturer (Kongsberg Maritime). Through this STI Training center will be able to train junior engineers in basic engine room operations, senior engineers in emergency operations and troubleshooting, and to train senior and chief engineers in optimal operation, fuel economy and energy conservation. This is achieved by controlled training leading to better understanding of the total plan operation, as a result of realistic simulation of a real engine room.
1 FULL MISSION ENGINE 6 MINI ENGINE STATION
Kongsberg Digital has developed a brand-new integrated Automation System (IAS) specially designed for its K-Sim Engine Room and Cargo Handling Simulators. The system is based on Kongsberg’s latest human-machine interface (HMI) standard, which is used for the market-leading K-Chief products. These products are often the fists choices for quality conscious ship owners and operators.

STI Training Academy and Kongsberg have included an impressive Walk-Through Virtual Engine Room application, comprising an interactive virtual animation of the entire engine room. Trainees can walk around in the engine room in a virtual world and operate the machinery systems locally. The system is ideal for engine room familiarization and gives the user an understanding of the complexity of an engine room layout and the challenges of finding the correct equipment in a real engine room environment.
